IFEAT Study Tour Visit to San Rafael Orchard: A Commitment to the Sustainable Production of Essential Oils

Last Friday, April 11, Citrusvil welcomed the IFEAT Study Tour at San Rafael Orchard, located in Lules, Tucumán. This event gathered professionals in the essential oils and aromas sector from all over the world.

We spent the day sharing our innovation and sustainability practices through presentations given by Martín Carignani, Citrusvil CEO, Agustina Lucci, Sustainability and Innovation Manager, and the Primary Production team.

The tour participants could appreciate how we implement our processes that meet high quality standards and how we align our practices with sustainability.

Our Practices in Action

The visit included a tour of the orchard. Participants could see harvesting and had the opportunity to learn about each step in our sustainable production.

Later, we arrived at the orchard’s viewpoint where the entire group took part in planting native species trees from Fundación Vicente Lucci Nursery to reaffirm our collective commitment to environmental protection and conservation.

With 871 hectares, San Rafael Orchard represents 12% of Citrusvil’s total production.

Our team used this enriching experience to strengthen ties, share knowledge and enhance global networking among professionals in the essential oils and aromas sector. This interaction helps build strong relations in the industry and fosters the exchange of better practices.

Partnerships and Teamwork

We would like to give a special thanks to Fundación Proyungas, which joined this meeting to explain how, since 2016, we have implemented this partnership between Citrusvil and ProYungas in the context of the Protected Productive Landscape Program.

Finally, we would like to thank IFEAT – The International Federation of Essential Oils and Aroma Trades for organizing this activity that emphasizes the importance of sustainability in the sector. Together, we will continue working towards responsible production and a more eco-friendly and cleaner future for all.
