Our Sustainable Production

As a member company of Grupo Lucci, our greatest commitment consists in aligning economic growth with sustainable development in northwestern Argentina, offering products that comply with international quality standards while caring for the environment and contributing to the social progress of the communities where we operate.

Our sustainability strategy is in keeping with the European Green Deal and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Progress and Achievements

Food Safety in Our Products

At Citrusvil, we have an integrated production system and we work to offer top-quality products in order to be strategic allies of our clients around the world. That is why we comply with the most important international standards of quality, food safety, environmental protection, and workers’ health and safety.

In this way, each and every stage of our production processes are combined to guarantee a top-quality product, maximizing efficiency and minimizing impact.

Rational Use of Water

We are a Zero Effluent company.

Water is an essential natural resource for life on the planet and a critical resource in food production. Thus, we are committed to its efficient and responsible management.

Climate Transition Plan

Energy efficiency is essential to make our products more sustainable and reduce the emissions of CO2 and other harmful gases into the atmosphere. Therefore, efficient energy use will enable us to develop our activities in keeping with a global trend towards low-carbon production and cleaner energy sources.

  • In 2024, the amount of renewable electric energy in our industrial energy matrix continued to grow. It represented 65% during the harvesting season.
  • 3 MW of electric energy has been obtained from biogas since 2019.
  • 1,400,000 m3 of treated water have been used for fertigation*.
  • 7,000 tons of organic solids have been used for composting*.

* Per harvesting season

In recent years, we have begun to review our Carbon Footprint, in accordance with GHG Protocol requirements. This will allow us to set greenhouse gas emission reduction goals in line with what is needed to keep global warming below dangerous levels and reach net zero by 2050 at the latest.

We will set short- and long-term emission reduction goals for both industry and agriculture.

Circular Economy

With circular economy practices we reduce the use of resources in production, maximize their use and ensure their final disposal, prioritizing material recovery and reuse. We generate renewable energy from our liquid effluents, while from organic solid waste, we produce compost that we use on our orchards.

Biodiversity Conservation

Biodiversity is the diversity of life, the variety of living beings that exist on the planet and the relations they develop among them and with the environment surrounding them. Therefore, our purpose is to strike a balance between the conservation of biodiversity and its habitat and agricultural production in areas of high environmental value.

Human Rights Protection and Respect

We promote and respect universally recognized human rights. We comply with the law in force, ensuring decent working conditions, labor development, knowledge improvement and equal opportunities and involving our value chain in this commitment.

Accountability and Transparency

We foster a work environment that is culturally respectful, equal, sensitive to the needs of all collaborators and respectful of diversity. We are committed to establishing healthy relationships among our collaborators, but also good business relations with our suppliers, clients, consultants, competitors and the general public. Every time one of them chooses us, such choice is based on our attributes, on their trust in our products and on the way we conduct our business.

Private Social Investment

The purpose of our social investment actions is to improve people's skills by promoting their autonomy, training and full insertion in society through our actions in the communities of influence.

Since 2003, through Fundación Vicente Lucci, we have channeled our social capital actions based on three strategic pillars that generate impact in Grupo Lucci’s rural communities of influence.

  • Education
  • Labor inclusion and entrepreneurship
  • Citizen engagement
